The good-mood Mondays are back.
I decided to have an more optimistic approach to the little debacle with the last few weeks of reading, if this is not fun what’s the fucking point anyway, and as with everything the sure steady pace will see thru to the other side. Last week my deficit was around 1,447 pages , this week I am glad to inform that sits at 1,351. The total for the week was 1,342 of the 1,246 pages needed each week to reach this year’s goal, those 105 extra pages go a really long way .
And again for this week the 52 book in 52 weeks challenge is working like clockwork, finished books number 13 and 14, Ready Player Two and Armada, respectively, both by Ernest Cline, you can check-out the post I did for them last week and just a few hours ago, and the next two weeks I will probably be invested on the award-winning world of Hyperion, created by Dan Simmons.
Now let’s talk about what we are here for, MY NUMBERS, the current total is 16,032 of the 64,952 pages of this year’s goal, and as tradition dictates every time a new milestones is reach, celebratory drinks were in order, in the form of a beautiful 2016 Don Luis Terra by Mexican winemaker, L.A. Cetto.
The end of the year projection of total pages it’s edging a bit closer to what is supposed to be, an increase from last week of 663 pages finishing at 63,779 , the clear signs of this ship getting back in course . My reading schedule stayed the same as last week, 2 days behind .
Now for the first 500,000 pages, I have only 133,394 pages left, and the new date of reaching that goal is May 19, 2026, 14 days sooner than the last projection, still my sights are pointed at March 20, 2023 as the desired date to reach the first half of the challenge, that gap narrowed from 1,172 to 1,157 days behind schedule.
The best indicator of this steady, almost hum drum pace on my progress is the numbers of the broader picture, the thing that keeps me up at night reading, so I said to myself, well this fortunately since the beginning of the year has only move forward .The second part of the journey, or the other 500,000 pages, the weekly average needed is now 1,845 with a daily average of 271 pages.
Now for the golden prize of 1,000,000 pages, to my delight, the projections puts it 8,148 days away, a 36 day gain from the last projection, making the end date is December 28, 2043, that’s 4,589 days after the original plan, 29 days less that the last projection. I have now officially enter the year 2043, still keeping the eye on the prize, the eye on 2031.
To summary the numbers from my Journey Back.
- Pages to reach 500,000: 133,394 pages
- Days to reach 1,000,000: 8,148 days
- Days behind schedule: 4,589 days
But if you’ll excuse ,those 2,597 pages aren’t going to read themselves.
Off to read.
