Another solid week reading, I edge closer to some of my goals of this year, and although I had a few not so productive days at the end of this week, there was some forward motion, and milestone reached.
I’ll begin with the total number of the current year of reading, number thirteen.
My current total is 17,884 of the 37, 984 pages of this year’s goal, with 52 days left to get as close as possible to that original number , for some positive aspects, and for the second week in a row, is that I’m still 76 days behind my reading schedule, same as last week, this means that I am on schedule, just have to push a bit to get some room to breath.
The projections for total pages for the year sits at 22,174, that’s a 683 improvement from last week, I’ll take any positive numbers as a good omen.
On the main focus of the year, finishing the epic fantasy series The Malazan Book of the Fallen, I finished Dust of Dreams, which left me breathless, and wondering what in the hell can go worst on the tenth volume, The Crippled God, currently on page 90.
I am seeing some improvement on the broader picture, my numbers have started to drop and everything feels like is gaining momentum, my job is to keep it up, and build upon it.
This is most evident on the dates for reaching my first 500,000 pages, the pages to read are now 156,573, and the new date is January 2, 2027, still almost 4 years difference from the first projected date of March 20, 2023, but it has constantly gone down.
The golden prize of 1,000,000 pages, according to the projections, is 8,750 days away, which would mean that the end date is March 31, 2045, 5,048 days after the original plan, as with my other numbers, there’s still a lot of work, but this pass few weeks I got back to lowering the numbers.
To summary the numbers from my Journey Back, here are this week’s final numbers:
- Pages to reach 500,000: 156,573 pages (1,184 pages less than last week)
- Days to reach 1,000,000: 8,750 days (33 days less than last week)
- Days behind schedule: 5,048 days (26 days less than last week)
What concerns the next decade of reading, this week’s adjustment show some improvement on both my daily and yearly average, and they finish like this:
- Pages needed/year: 65,657 (119 pages less than last week)
- Pages needed/day: 180 (stayed the same)
I will have to venture out this week to replenish my printed graphic novel bounty, it’s running a bit low, and I saw some interesting things eagerly awaiting in those shelves .
Off to read.
