(Y-11) new comic books and back to reality

This passed week I did not read as much as usual.

I was taking a break to recharge some batteries and go visit an old friend, the sea.

It was quite relaxing and I enjoyed catching some sun and eating.

Beautiful scenery to be really enjoy, thus my lack of a great progress, but have no fear, because next weekend, I’ll devote myself to the 24in48 readathon and it will be really productive.

Right now I am working on Memories of Ice, because I want to be done by early Friday morning and start with my readathon with a couple of short novels from a Mexican editorial house, Paraiso Perdido, but more on that later.

For now I’ll use my new comic book acquisitions as a palate cleanser, this time it will be issue number six of Justice League Dark and the ninth and final issue of DC Heroes in Crisis.

Off to read.

(Y-11) closing in

With little over a week from the start of the 24in48 Readathon, I decided that for the next few days there will be no clocks and only two goals.

The first is to finish Memories of Ice by July 19, in the morning.

And the second task is to replenish my junk food stash for the upcoming reading sessions.

Off to read.

(Y-11) My 24in48 Readathon Schedule

With little over two weeks to go for the start of the 24in48 Readathon, I have my reading schedule ready to roll.

Because of the time zone issue, the official start is at midnight of Saturday in Eastern Daylight Time and I am on Mountain Daylight Time, which is two hours ahead.

So, I will start at 10 p.m. of Friday night, and read 11 hours Saturday and Sunday.

Here is my schedule.

Hopefully this time I’ll read the 24 hours.

(Y-11) last reading session of the week

As I enter the final stretch of this week reading my mind us focused on flexing and getting ready my reading muscles for the July readathon of 24in48.

It is an amazing experience, and hopefully this time around I will finish the 24 hours.

I encourage you to sign up in their official website and join in the fun.

So, to finish off this week, I’ll try to make some headway on The Dark Phoenix Saga.

I’ll update my numbers tomorrow for this week of reading, my total for this year, and a new entry of old school Monday.

Now off to reading, maybe I’ll throw in some time to start a new jigsaw puzzle a got for father’s day, because I have already finished with the Star Wars one I got for my birthday.

I’ll see how this plays out.

(Y-11) January numbers

A quick update of my reading for January.

And yes I made a chart.

January 2019 Numbers

Those two spikes in my activity are the weekend of the 24in48 readathon, I wish that my head was I bit better, but there it is always the next one.

The positive thing is that I finished January on a high note, 161 pages for the last day of the month.

Right now, I’m beginning my journey thru the mesmerizing pages of one of my favorite comic book universe, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.

To start off, B.P.R.D.: The Plague of Frogs Vol.1

BPRD Vol 1

Off to read.

(Y-11) The end of my 24in48 readathon and a small hiatus.

I officially finished my participation on the amazing 24in48 readathon, for this edition my numbers are as follow:

  • 9 hours and 20 minutes of reading.
  • 1 book finished, Deadhouse Gates, and read 127 pages of Gauntlgrym, part of the Legend of Drizzt saga.
  • 4 amazing graphic novels, volumes 3 and 4 of Scott Pilgrim, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1952, and Hit-Girl in Colombia.

I would have liked to read the whole 24 hours, but I didn’t have it in me this time.

Regardless of that, I really enjoyed it.

For now, I’ll try to read some more and take a couple of weeks off from writing on this blog.

Refocus.

Regroup.

See you all really soon.

Started reading Gauntlgrym and made a little headway, currently on page 27.

Also finished volumes three and four of Scott Pilgrim.

A total of 561 pages and still 19 and a half hours to go.

Now I’ll go rest my eyes and go on a snack run.

(Y-11) Almost Time

For this weekend the only things that matters are my gigantic pile of book and the clock below.

Just have to get thru this Friday in one piece, and come 10:00 p.m. I will be glued to my comfy sofa for the rest of the weekend.

I’ll be posting regularly on how my reading is going, mainly here, but also on Twitter, you can find me as @azriel_d.

Great vibes to all of those participating on the 24in48 readathon.

(Y-11) gearing up

Yesterday I fell asleep before getting the chance to write anything.

My reading was slow, only 17 total pages.

Right now I am working on my reading for the 24in48 readathon and trying to close out Deadhouse Gates, currently on page 567.

I’ll power thru to the two upcoming nights in order to finish and get everything set for the weekend.

Tomorrow I’ll post my final reading list and also a new place with locally brewed beers.

Back to reading,

azr.
