(Y-11) Thickening my book shelfs

I just bought the first volume of the Spanish version of the now classic series of Prince Valiant by Hal Foster.

According to the information of the editor, this new reprint will collect the series starting from 1937 until the most recent addition to this classic on 2018.

Each book will comprise a year and apparently will possibly expand over more than 70 volumes, coming out twice a month, up until volume 20, when it changes to once a week.

Sometimes this type of collections are hard to find, for they run out quickly.

But hopefully, I’ll stay sharp and complete this amazing collection.

(Y-11) this evening’s reading

I’ll continue with Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman: Eternal Nights and finally, after much anticipation, the second issue of Batman: Damned, by the super creative team of Azzarello/Bermejo.

I bought the Jim Lee variant cover.

For the weekend, I will try to cross the 25,000 page mark, from which I am under 400 pages to go.

(Y-11) two top-notch creatos

This afternoon’s reading will be the first volume of the collaboration between two of the most talented creators working on comic books today.

Taking the helm as writer will be Scott Snyder, recent creator of some of the best Batman stories, and as illustrator, and often writer himself, Jeff Lemire.

This promises to be a great read.

(Y-11) Late night old school reading.

To close out this busy day I’ll take on the really early days of the Uncanny X-Men, in charge of one of the most important creative teams in comic book history, written by Stan “The Man” Lee and illustrated by Jack “The King” Kirby.

Simply amazing.

Again, I just have to wait around for things to transpire.

So it is the perfect opportunity to read some comic books in my phone.

And as last time my partner is this down time will be Gideon Falls, the second issue.

(Y-11) Revenge of the 5th

Well, my weekend’s reading has been quite rewarding, yesterday I logged in more than 400 pages and today will pretty much end the same way.

And keeping with the weekend’s theme it was all Star Wars.

So, I finished volumes three and four of Jason Aaron’s run on the new Star Wars series, and it really fills the void we do not see in the movies.

Also, I finished the first volume of Kieron Gillen’s run with infamous Sith Lord, Earth Vader.

Right now, I plan to close out the night reading the next volume of this really promising series, this of course after I finish watching Game of Thrones.

Right now, I am watching Episode III : The Revenge of the Sith, and have finished cooking some lasagna and the second volume of Jason Aaron’s run on the new Star Wars series.

I think this day can only get better.

(Y-11) May the Fourth be with you.

Happy Star Wars day!!!

I will have an early start to this day and I’ll do this by reading the first volume in the new Marvel Comics era of Star Wars,originally they published from 1977 until 1986, then the series when to Dark Comics, this by the mid 90s.

In 2015, they announced that the series was coming back to Marvel Comics.

So now, I’ll read the first volume on the run of a really talented writer, Jason Aaron and officially start today’s celebration.

May the Force be with you, always.

(Y-11) Gearing up for May the 4th.

Tomorrow is Star Wars, or more commonly known as May the Fourth.

An as a huge fan of the saga I will indulge and both movies and comics of this beloved universe.

For the movie part, I’ll play it according to tomorrow’s mood.

And on the comic-book front, I’ll put my Kindle Unlimited subscription to good use, mainly to read both the Star Wars and Vader series, which are part of the new Marvel Comics take on the series.

I’m looking forward to a complete day of perusing on a galaxy far, far away.
