(Y-11) happy, happy, joy, joy

It’s official, this morning, I surpassed my total reading for last, which was my second best year with a total of 32,148 pages.

Right now I have a total 32,208 pages, 60 more than last year, and with 101 days to go on my reading year, I aim to at least bring down my best year of reading, the first one with a total of 47,705 pages.

I’m up for the challenge.

In news of my overall progress, I gained some ground on my total reading for this year, right now I am 44 days behind schedule, but steadily gaining ground.

Concerning reaching 500,000 pages, I am currently estimating January 4, 2029, as the finishing date, that is almost 7 months earlier than when I originally started estimating my progress.

I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I am motivated as hell.

Off to read.

(Y-11) One goal in mind

As I close out my day of reading I have only a single goal running around my head.

Make this he second best year of reading.

And, with little over 300 pages to go, I think it is the perfect occasion to do so,

I have three books in mind to get me there, volumes four and five of fantasy series Pathfinder.

And the third volume of Italian fantasy series Dragonero.

I’m feeling really confident that those pages will be surpassed.

Off to read.

(Y-11) Old School Monday…Showcase(1956-1978) # 22

Hello again, on this Monday I read the first appearance of Test Pilot and Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

This story was originally printed on September 1959, it was written by John Broome and illustrated by the legendary Gil Kane.

They were looking a way to reintroduce the character but making different from the first Green Lantern in the DC Universe, Alan Scott.

Since the space race craze was in full swing, a space policeman was just perfect for the era.

My favorite part was the now classic Green Lantern oath, to think that one of the most iconic lines is now 60 years old.

This particular version that I read is an Spanish reprint of the original book, and it is sold in a sealed pack containing some blind comic books, encase in a foil wrap, from the modern DC Comics era, it is well worth the price in order to read this classic tale.

Next week I’ll start with the origin story of Wonder Woman, than means All-Star Comics and the Justice Society of America.

Now, off to read.

(Y-11 ) final reading session of the week

I enter this last reading session with a bit over 13 hours on the reading clock and two amazing days of progress.

I want to closeout not only the week but also the month of June, which has been historical for this blog, with a bang.to help me out to close this down, I’ll invoke the help of the third volume of the fantasy series Pathfinder, based on the Role-playing game.

And try to chip away a bit more of Memories of Ice, currently on page 122.

Also tomorrow I’ll made a numbers update.

Off to read.

(Y-11) Sunday of making lists and new comics.

I spent this morning reading for awhile and making plans for the rest.

I finally finished the first 100 list of books, for this occasion it was for fantasy.

I’ll start with Fiction probably sometime next week.

The other great thing about today is that my special order of the Italian graphic novel, in it’s Spanish version, Dragonero.

I am still missing some issues, three to be exact, but they will arrive soon.

Plenty of new material.

Off to read.

And the latest numbers of DC Heroes in Crisis, numbers five thru eight.

(Y-11) last stretch of the night

As I enter the final hours of the day, there is still some 17 plus hours to go on my weekly reading clock.

I could chip away almost 3 hours, and hopefully I’ll slip another one before I succumb to sleep.

Right now I’m reading Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol and the third book of The Malazan Book of the Fallen, Memories of Ice.

Lets see how much I can achieve.

Off to read.
