(Y-10) 68 days… some progress

Yesterday I finish a couple of Star Wars graphic novel, yeah, my insomnia mode kicked in, and I took advantage of it.

With this the goal of achieving my second best year of reading is well within grasp.

Only 975 pages stand in my way.

I think that tonight I’ll close out with some comic book action and a chapter or two of The Wise Man’s Fear.

Back to it.

(Y-10) 69 days… procrastination mode

Today takes the award for laziest day of all this tenth year of reading.

I read for little while in the morning, but nothing major.

I’ll probably squeeze about half hour of reading before I succumb to sleep.

On more positive news, my total has reach 26,452 pages.

A little over 1,500 pages to go on the next milestone of this year.

Well now back to reading, I think some Star Wars action will be great to close out this lazy sunday.

Happy Readings!!!

(Y-10) 70 days…keep on pushing

I finished reading another fantastic graphic novel by Brian Lee O’Malley.

Seconds, what an amazing story of second guessing and how we deal with life, lost, and all the decisions in between.

Also, today ,I finally made some headway with The Wise Man’s Fear, this book is going to be tricky to read, only because of the sheer size of it.

I should probably consider a backup book, one a bit smaller in size, to take with me and leave the other to read exclusively at home.

Anyhow, I keep on chipping away at my reading and edging closer to my goals.

Probably on Monday I will post a quick number summary.

But now I’m back to it.

(Y-10) 71 days… errands

Today was a busy one, I had an orientation session because I will star my Master Degree on Monday.

So, yeah, crazy busy days ahead of me.

For now I’ll endulge with my book and continue with DC Comics Dark Nights series, just got the two latest releases.

Back to reading

(Y-10) 72 days… some quick numbers

I will like to make a quick recap of my numbers, this is because, judging by its weight only, The Wise Man’s Fear is going to be a substantial experience.

So, here are some numbers of my current progress:

  • Total pages for (Y-10) : 26,077 pages.
  • Pages to go to reach next milestone (second best year of reading): 1,541 pages.
  • Pages to go to reach main goal of this year (read more than the two last years combined): 7,657 pages.
  • And lastly, Pages to go to reach my ultimate milestone (best year ever of reading): 21,628 pages.

So there you have it, I have some great reading sessions ahead of me, and as always my goal it is not only as many pages as I can, but to enjoy each and every book, I sit down to read.

And let me tell you, that in 10 years, I have not come across any book that I did not enjoy, some I liked and fortunately some have left an indelible mark on me.

That is the primary engine that keeps me moving ever forward to seek more, to read more, and enjoy this journey to the fullest.

Now I will take advantage of working at the dinner table and do some reading.

I am telling you, there is some heaving lifting involved with this book, both physically and mentally.

Happy Readings!!!

(Y-10) 73 days…a year

Today marks the first anniversary of the passing of my father.

I miss him terribly, but also I remember him constantly.

At every purple sunset in our fair desert, in the trees swaying on the summer’s hot wind, and of course every time I edge closer to one of my goals.

So for today, I spent my day mostly in contemplation and of course reading.

I’m glad to say that I finished The Name of the Wind and will dive into the next chapter of this extraordinary tale, The Wise Man’s Fear.

But to close out the day, I’ll continue reading Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel seconds.

Tomorrow I’ll update my total pages and a quick recap of how my goals are progressing.

Happy Readings.

(Y-10) 74 days…a tiny burst

Had a good day of reading, I reached page 539 of The Name of the Wind, a 79 page progress and the day is not over yet.

Right now I am on sleep duty and my youngest is not showing any signs of giving in.

So, in the meantime, I’ll try to make some headway with the second volume of All-Star Batman, with the extraordinary art of Jock.

Happy Readings!!!

(Y-10) 75 days…slow progress

I will close out my day with a double espresso, some pecan ice cream, and a plan to reach page 500 of The Name of the Wind, currently on page 460.

Today was a typical one, as far as progress is concerned, I read the last three comic books I had left of DC Comics Dark Nights and will have to wait until the rest come out.

This is because I am reading them in Spanish and are coming out on a weekly basis, there are about four left to close out the series.

I guess I’ll read something else until the rest come out, and of course make some headway with my book.

Happy Readings!!!

p.s.

I plan to have a couple of Caffeine Pilgrimage entries for next week, including a new spot recently recommended.

So, stay tuned for that.

(Y-10) 76 days…down day

It has been a lazy day, did a little bit of reading in the morning, currently on page 455 of The Name of the Wind.

Also, I finally got around to watch the first season of Castlevania, loved the video game as a kid and love the idea of Warren Ellis as the writer of the series.

I am only 4 episodes in but so far so good.

I plan to close out the night with a little Dark Nights action.

Happy Readings.

(Y-10) 77 days… 25,000 pages

I’m happy to announce that another milestone for this year of reading has been conquered.

The total as of now sits at 25,069 pages.

Although I had a busy day, there were a few moments to squeeze in some reading.

I’ll close out the day with some more DC comics Dark Nights and keep on feeding my total.

Back to it.
