Reading Session IV

I’m sorry that this post was not made right after I finished the session but exhaustion for the best of me.

Right now I am at the halfway point of my total reading hours and this last session was a bit more modest, 1 graphic novel, some progress with The Name of the Wind, and 218 pages.

I’ll start the final day of reading in about 5 minutes and hopefully I’ll get the 24 hours of reading or at least come really close.

Happy Readings

p.s.

my total pages for the 12 hours of reading is 2,164, not to bad.

Reading Session III

Another great reading session is on the books.

For this one my total of pages was 795 and 5 graphic novels, all of them of the event Rebirth of DC Comics.

With this I have racked up 9 hours of total reading and still have 15 hours ahead of me.

In about 1 hour I’ll start with the final reading session of the day.

I’m going to focus on The Name of the Wind and start reading the critically acclaimed series of Scott Pilgrim.

Happy Readings, I’ll rest my eyes for awhile.

Reading Session II

The second reading session of the readathon is in the books and I have logged 6 hours of total reading, only 18 more to go.

I consider this was a really successful session.

My total is of 10 graphic novels and 1,068 pages.

You can see the reading material in the pictures below.

I am going to take a break to regroup, eat something and rest my eyes for a while.

The third session will be dedicated to DC Comics Rebirth event and The Name of Wind.

Happy Readings

Reading Session I

I have completed the first two hours of the 24 in 48 readathon.

This first reading session was dedicated to The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

I am currently on page 83, yeah I not a speedy reader, and especially if reading English, which is not my native language.

Tomorrow I’ll start at the wee hours of the morning, 6 a.m. to be precise, and will tackle some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graphic novels.

sweet dreams and the best of luck to those doing this awesome challenge.

(Y-10) 85 days… the day has finally come

I am only 40 minutes away to start a weekend long reading session.

I will be participating in the amazing readathon 24 in 48, that is read 24 hours in a period of 48 hours.

So, my schedule goes as seen in the pictures below.

Because of the geographical location of the organizers of this event, the official starting time will be at midnight eastern standard time of Saturday July the 21st, that is 2 hours ahead of my Mountain standard time time zone, I will begin at 10 p.m. of today, to coincide with the the blow of the event.

I have already prep my reading Stack, have massive amounts of coffee and a few snacks to fuel my reading.

So I’m of to the races, I’ll be posting an entry after each reading session and capture little moments on Twitter.

You can find me with the handle @azriel_d and be on the lookout for the hashtags #24in48 and #readathon .

Well, I’m off to make the last minutes adjustments .

Happy Readings!!!

(Y-10) 87 days… falling behind

Currently I am on page 267 of The Ghost King, the final book of the Transitions Trilogy of our badass friend Drizzt.

I have was is left of this night and all of tomorrow to finish up in order to be ready for my plans for the 24 in 48 readathon.

My plan is to kick off the weekend’s event reading a new book nd try to finish it over the course of the readathon.

Also, I plan to read a lot of graphic novels and comics.

I am still pending with my final reading schedule but my focus has been on finishing the book.

Hopefully by tomorrow’s post I will be done with the book and have the final layout of my weekend of reading.

For now I’ll get back to the drawing board and do some reading.

(Y-10) 89 days…momentum

I am pleased to say that my reading is right on schedule.

As of now, I am on page 190 of 375 of The Ghost King, that is just past the halfway mark, and with three days left until the beginning of the readathon, things are looking just right.

I plan to read a bit more and then call it a night, let us see how much I can advance before the gentle arms of Morpheus take me to dream country.

The other good news is that I have received some caffeine reinforcements for the upcoming task, in the form of three limited edition Dolce Gusto coffee pods.

I have already tasted the Colombia and Peru varieties, and let me tell you they will be an asset in the wee hours of the night, a sort of caffeinated kick in the ass.

Tomorrow I promise to publish my final reading schedule for the readathon, it needs some adjustments, but it is getting really close to finally making sense.

Back to reading.

(Y-10) 90 days…scheming

Today I Finished what turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise, I’m of course talking of Lost at Sea by Bryan Lee O’Malley, it touches a few sensitive fibers, highly recommended.

With this book and the one finished last night by grand total for the year has surpassed the 21,000-page mark.

21,185 pages to be precise.

Day by day I am closing in on my total goal, and it gets me motivated.

This week my reading approach is going to be a bit different.

I am going to focus all of my efforts on finishing The Ghost King, and with this book, I’ll take a little break from the Legend of Drizzt saga to read a couple of books I had my eye on for quite some time, after this, I’ll resume my journey through Faerûn.

Tomorrow I will post my definite schedule for 24 in 48 readathon, and for my inaugural reading session I intend to start one of the books mentioned above, I’ll keep it a mystery for now.

I plan to have seven reading sessions along the weekend, each one will be focused on a particular theme and/or goal.

But the primary goal, besides having a great time doing one of the things I truly love, is to sum-up as many pages as humanly possible.

I am gearing up, gathering supplies and getting my eyes ready.

For now, I’ll get back to reading and scheme some more.

(Y-10) 92 days… recharge

I’ll take a few days to just relax and recharge and of course get ready for next weekend’s readathon.

I will be posting my reading plan, goals and schedule for this great event in the coming.

And yes, I will have different themes for each of the reading sessions.

But for now, I’ll enjoy my weekend retrieve and try to make some headway with a few graphic novels and my current book while enjoying this new delight I discovered while wandering.

Happy Readings!!!
