And coming in number 3

I’m so excited to say that this year is now officially my third best in page total. With 45,519 total pages it’s only behind year number 11 with 47,171 total pages, and my best year, the first of all, with 47,705 total pages.

That means that I’m only 2,187 pages away from the top spot. I´ll work my ass off to get there by the end of the week, and celebrate achieving both the best year ever and crossing the 50,000-page milestone for the year.

I’m thinking that celebratory pancakes are in my near future.

91 and 7 days

I have exactly 91 days left on this the fourteen year of reading, and in that time the total pages left are 20,077.

But my most immediate challenge is to reach the 50,000 page mark, for which, there’s only 7 days and 5,135 pages left.

Both are quite the undertaking, those 5,135 present the most challenging task, but at least more than half that is possible than I can tackle. I’m confident in my ability to take it on, for that, and as must you expect from me, I concocted a reading schedule to help reach that particular.

What’s in store for today :

  • Asesino Real (70 pages)
  • Shaman King Vol. 7
  • Shaman King Vol. 8
  • X of Swords (195 pages)
  • La búsqueda del asesino (105 pages)

That’s around 571 pages, and that will be the total for each day for this week.

Numbers: March 7,2022

Welcome to the first Magic Monday of the month of March, and what an awesome way to start this month.

My challenge of 52 books in 52 weeks challenge is way ahead of schedule, starting week number 38, I’m still working on book number 45, Asesino Real by legendary author Robin Hobb, currently on page 584 of 654, I hope to finish by today in order to start the final book of the Farseer trilogy, La búsqueda del Asesino. The one short story a day challenge is enjoying a 58-day streak. I´m about to start a new short story collection by non-other that Robert E. Howard, famed Conan The Barbarian creator. This time is the turn of puritan swordsman Solomon Kane, beautifully by one of the best artists in fantasy, Gary Gianni.

Now let’s talk about MY NUMBERS, the current total is 44,865 of the 64,952 pages of this year’s goal, that’s a whopping 1,718 registered pages more than last update.Still focusing on the next step, 50,000 pages. Now I’m facing the final week to get back in balance, and with 5,135 pages to reach the next milestone, I feel a strange kind of focus, call it confidence, call it stupidity, I’ll call it a fun race against the clock.

The end of the year projection of total pages had a bit of a surge ,currently is at 59,929 pages, 784 pages less than the last update. My reading schedule is now 22 days behind, this is a 2 day gain from my last update. I keep on sticking to my mantra, one step at a time, one page at a time.

I start week 38 with a deficit of 3,943 pages, and a total 5,813 pages to get back to balance, this week I had a surplus of 624 pages. The total for the month of March, for which the projected goal is 5,518 pages, is now 1,750, representing almost a 32%, in just the first week. The month of February finish with a total of 5,256, that’s 272 more pages that projected. With the amazing first week of reading of this new month, I have now 7,633 pages to get back in balance for the whole year.

For the first 500,000 pages, I have only 104,558 pages left, and the new date of reaching that goal is September 22 , 2025, that’s 19 days earlier than the last projection, my sights are still pointed at March 20, 2023 as the desired date to reach the first half of the challenge, a date that is fast approaching. The gap narrowed from 936 to 917 days behind schedule.

The second part of the journey, or the other 500,000 pages, my weekly pages needed are now 1,679 with a daily average of 240 pages, a 2 page a day drop from the last projection.

Now for the golden prize of 1,000,000 pages, to my delight, the projections puts it 7,487 days away, a 43 day gain from the last projection, making the end date is September 5, 2042, that’s 4,110 days after the original plan, 36 days less that the last projection. This time of forward are to become the standard, the gain of at least a month of time with each week. I have to keep remaining myself that my coveted end date is in the middle 2031, not somewhere in 2042.

To summary the numbers from my Journey Back.

  • Pages to reach 500,000: 104,558 pages
  • Days to reach 1,000,000: 7,487 days
  • Days behind schedule: 4,110 days

Now back to work on the 50,000-page milestone, and hitting my very neglected daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
